Sofia surveyed the various team members sitting before her in the conference room. All of the soldiers were there; Ali, Vera, Coby and Indy were all off handling other projects at the moment, but they weren't needed just now anyway. "All right, gentlemen and lady - " She nodded in Caiti's direction. " - orders have just come down to me from the higher-ups. For some reason, they want us to recover some anti-gravity technology a private lab in Buffalo, New York has come up with. I don't know /why/, per se, but it's imperative that you go get it as soon as possible, apparently." She produced several packets of information gathered by Ali. "You'll be heading out in the dead of night, so as to avoid unnecessary conflict, but the lab /is/ located in the city, so you need to exercise some caution, especially since Ieri will be joining you."
Nick raised his hand. "Isn't Ieri a bit of a freak to take into a populated area like this? Just saying."
Sofia gave him a frosty stare. "Ieri is also dangerous and hungry. The benefits outweigh the risks. Deal with it." She turned back to the intel spread across the table. "Anyway. These are the building plans, here's where the lab itself is. There will be a few guards, but try not to kill them this time. Ali will be in contact with you." She slid the folders over to Amzi and the others to look through. "This should be a simple task, people. Do try not to fuck it up royally."

Bram sat nervously, his energy gun in his lap. Caiti was sitting next to him, and Ieri was on his other side. Not the best place to be, between those two, but considering his other team mates maybe it didn't really matter. He took his packet and reluctantly leafed through it as Ieri hissed at Nick threateningly. Caiti was chuckling in a low tone. "She called me a lady~" Amzi glared at Sofia. "Do try not to fuck it up royally? What the hell is wrong with you?" He growled lowly. Ali hugged his arm. "Hun, let's not start anything right now, okay?" "Shut up, Ali." Bram closed his eyes, already feeling a headache coming on. Wonderful. He stood with the others as they headed towards the doors
Taman set his coffee down on the table, dropped a bunch of files next to it, and dropped gracefully into his seat. "Dyami, Aidan, Mag, Ben, Pan, and An. Buffalo, New York." he drawled, sliding a thin file to each one. "Some genius in the private sector managed anti-gravity. No good says Big Brother. Go get it, don't kill anyone. Oh, and take Teak. It's a closed network and you might need him to open a door or something." he said, looking at the tech over his shoulder. "Lock and load people." Aidan smiled serenely. "He's just such a sweetheart." Dyami snorted, checking his weapons quickly as he stood. "I'm driving." He said, waving the keys.

Teak made a face. "They're always closed fucking systems. Always. Why don't we just invest in a set of electronic lockpicks or something so I don't have to go every damn time?"
Ben smirked. "We've got you, don't we? What do we need with more tech?"
Pandora clapped a hand on his shoulder. "Aw, come on, it'll be fun! Shouldn't be too bad, just open a few doors, grab the tech and leave. Simple, no?"
Teak grunted and followed the others out. "I guess." ----- Getting into the lab itself was surprisingly painless. A few guards and security cameras made up the building's security system, and it didn't take long for Teak to scramble the cameras. Ben and Anath quietly knocked out the guards by the south entrance and let them in. They made their way to the rooms where the technology was being kept and Teak set to work dismantling the added security there, so that their break-in wouldn't be so immediately noticeable. He smirked after a few minutes. "Heh, got it. Go ahead."
Meanwhile, the team from The Valiant Legion was prowling around by the north entrance. The few guards that were there were easily knocked unconscious, and Amzi simply smashed the lock on the door and headed inside, navigating the corridors until they found the right set of rooms.

Dyami, bored from the lack of anything to do, stiffened slightly. Aidan instantly brought out his knives. "North." Dyami said simply. Aidan nodded and padded his way towards the north entrance to the room. Dyami looked at Teak. "Grab the device and wipe the research files." he said flatly, bringing out his gun. "An, help me cover Teak. Pan, Mag, Ben, you're going to want to help Aidan. We have serious company." Taman, back at the base, sat up in his chair and put a hand to his headset. "Try not to engage. In and out. If we can cover our tracks by pinning this on someone else, do it. Trap 'em inside and trip the alarm on the way out." he instructed.
Ieri sniffed the air. "Do you smell that?" he asked, dropping the unconscious guard/snack he had been carrying in his coils. Amzi narrowed his eyes. "Smell, abomination?" Ieri hissed at him. "There are people here." Bram frowned. "I am sensing some life energy." he admitted slowly. Caiti sniffed. "I don't smell anything." She said slowly. Then she grinned and pulled out her blackjack. "But let's take a look, huh?" she said joyously, flinging open the door "Hello, darlings!"

Teak nodded tersely and sat down at the terminal, quickly booting it up. Behind him, all hell quickly broke loose as Magyar took the opportunity to pounce on Caiti, the first person to walk through the door and attempted to rip her open and Pan, Aidan and Ben all waded into the fray after her. It was dark, and neither side had any clear idea of what was going on around them.
An, staying in the background, swore under his breath and moved into a better position at Teak's back, not daring to fire for fear of hitting one of the others. That is, until Nick took the opportunity to sneak up behind An with a knife. The area was really too small for guns, and Nick excelled in close combat. Teak swore viciously and moved as quickly as he could, ignoring all the others. Suddenly, something large and heavy slammed into the side of his head, and everything went dark.

Aidan whooped and hurled himself at Amzi. "I remember you!" He crowed. "Oh fuck do I remember you!" Amzi tried to bat him away, but Aidan bounced and launched at him again with his knives, laughing his head off. Caiti engaged Mag jovially. "Ooooh, fun!" she exclaimed, pulling out her knife to ward the cat-woman off. "What pretty ears you have! mind if I keep one as a souvenir?" Ieri rolled his eyes and batted absently at Ben with his tail. "Human." He said in disappointment.
Dyami swore systematically in every language he knew as he tracked the precise movements of everyone in the room with his mind. He opened his mouth to warn Anath, but was just a little to late. Failing that he swiveled and pointed his gun at Nick. "Back off." he barked, his eyes flicking from Teak to Anath briefly. The sudden movement caught Ieri's eye and he abandoned Ben as Amzi knocked Aidan back into him. Dyami swore again as the snake hybrid come towards him and turned to fire. Ieri shot the end of his tail out ahead of him and wrapped it around Dyami's wrist, yanking him up towards the ceiling. Dyami twisted himself around Ieri's tail in an effort to gain a better position and grabbed his poniard. With a steely look of satisfaction he brought it down as hard as he could at the scales. It glanced off. "Well, fuck." He said weakly. Ieri smiled at him. "Only I get to kill the bigoted idiot." He said in a lecturing tone before sinking his poisoned fangs into the psychic's shoulder.
